What a great month is December! 

After two dark winter months, hopefully we will get a  snow white month with lots of parties, Christmas drinks, dinners and galas! Ugg's will be exchanged for high heels and warm sweaters for beautiful shiny cocktaildresses and evening gowns.
 
In addition to the still expanding collection, MirreMirre purchased especially for Christmas some wonderful red and gold dresses. Red & gold dresses from Karen Millen, Diane von Furstenberg, Allen Schwartz, Yaya Aflalo (the dress that Heidi Klum is wearing) and Max Azria.

Opera Nabucco

Sunday, November 28th, the Concert Hall in Amsterdam was completely sold-out for the opera Nabucco by Verdi. The Amsterdam Opera Choir performed this opera to celebrate their 60th anniversary. A great choir singing with eight international soloists and the soprano wearing a MirreMirre dress!

Saturday night I was at a party when I received a panic phonecall from the Amsterdam Opera Choir. The soprano, who had to act the next day, had fallen ill ...By coincidence they found a German soprano who was in Amsterdam and able to sing Nabucco, though, her wardrobe consisted of nothing more than jeans ...
 
Sunday morning the soprano, called Claudia Iten, came along for a dress. I was previously told what her size was so we could start the fitting right away. It had to be very appropiate, not too tight, not too dull, no black and not too sexy...After trying on several dresses she chose a long red dress with a beautiful neckline and a skirt with lots of fabric that moved along nicely.

Sadly, no pictures were taken in the Concert Hall but she was wearing this dress from BCBG Max Azria in red.

Charity dinner for Xenia Hospice

On the 7th of November the charity dinner for Xenia Hospice took place, this was also the opening of the special Restautant Week of Leiden.
The four hosts of the Cherry on the Cake Foundation were shining all night long in MirreMirre dresses with fabulous MirreMirre heels!

During the evening there was an auction of several items including: poems by Nico Dijkshoorn, a silk-screen print by Casper Faassen, a Mini Cooper convertible weekend, starting number 1 for the Leiden Lakenfeesten, a silk-screen print by Shunyam and a whole page LIFE! Magazine.
The foundation collected € 23.000 for Hospice Xenia!

Pink Ribbon Gala

On the 29th of October The Pink Ribbon Gala was held at the 'Westerkerk' in Amsterdam.
It was the start of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. At the gala there were several Dutch celebrities including Koert-Jan de Bruijn and his girlfriend Charlotte wearing a MirreMirre dress! Not a pink dress, but a beautiful blue dress of Max Azria with a pink scarf of Karen Millen (also from the MirreMirre collection). Fantasticto see a MirreMirre dress on the red carpet!

After dressing several beautifull brides this summer MirreMirre is expanding it's beautifull, elegant though simple weddings gowns collection. And with succes!

The prettiest (pregnant) bride

At last it is summer! Flipflops, dresses, life is beautifull!

In the last couple of months a few brides got married wearing a MirreMirre dress.Really fantastic to see these beautifull dresses been worn by the brides on their most important day!Before the big day there were several fittings with several white dresses. Often the mother of the bride came along in order to make the best choice. Two of the MirreMirre spring brides were pregnant, which was quite a different kind of challenge in terms of design, fabric and fitting.

The last bride, as seen on the picture, wore besides the bridal gown, a fantastic red & sexy evening gown, also bougt at MirreMirre!
I wonder what the summer will bring, more beautiful brides, weddings, cocktail parties?

MirreMirre Photoshoot

Spring is still nowhere to be seen but luckily there are a lot of parties and weddings!
In April, a beautiful dream came true! The first MirreMirre photoshoot!
A fantastic studio in Amsterdam of Ernstige Zaken. 10 Models, photographers, makeup artists, stylists, production manager and not entirely irrelevant .... 105 dresses.It was a big challenge, a 'mission impossible' according to some, but nothing was further from the truth! All dresses were beautifully photographed thanks to the wonderful team of MirreMirre!
